Spreading the legacy of one of the first abstract expressionists

Esteban Vicente (1903-2001) was a painter born in Turégano (Segovia) belonging to the first New York generation of Abstract Expressionism, awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 1991. Part of his work is preserved in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Esteban Vicente in Segovia, which is responsible for promoting and keeping alive the cultural legacy of Esteban Vicente.

In order to promote his work, the traveling exhibition Painting has to be poor was launched in 2017. And on the occasion of this, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Esteban Vicente in Segovia produced a catalog compiling the work on display, which you can see in these images.
