Introduction video for a tech company
While at Plain Concepts, the Marketing department needed to introduce the company to potential clients and new markets in the shortest way across diverse channels.
Originally, this video was expected to be used just on the screens of the company offices as a welcoming video. Later on, it was decided to play the video at trade fairs, commercial presentations, and social media. This made to update the original brief to fit into the new needs.
To reach the best results, you need a proper workflow and process. Don’t try it without.
Defining the needs, the client requests and the scope of work is key to getting on well with clients and keeping healthy. All of this must be crystal clear in a proper document: the brief. This is where the first milestone in the audiovisual creation process comes in: confirming that both sides agree on what the brief contains.
After that is time to read, research, and gather information to define the message to tell. I research in two ways: about the message to tell, in order to define it, and visually, to agree with the client how it will look through references and examples related to the needs.
First of all, we need to know the message we will spread. That has a name: the script. This is the second milestone of the process: the client’s approval of the script. Once is closed, I move forward the process.
To hit the target, once we have the script, it’s needed to agree with the client on how the script will be visualised. Time is money, so I develop a doodle-storyboard enough to understand what will appear on the screen for each scene of the script.
The third milestone of the video content process is approving the storyboard. After that, ideas are transformed into visuals.
Once we have all the assets needed (including voiceover, music,…) it’s time to make them move to create the final product. Here you can see a screenshot of the project in After Effects.
